Karie Horton

Owner/Pure Energy Dance Company Director/Instructor

Karie began her dance training at the early age of 4.  Over the course of her dancing career, she trained under the direction of Tammie Duncan. Karie was a performing member of the Texarkana Community Ballet and also performed with the Oakland Ballet Company.  After graduating high school, she attended Louisiana State University in Shreveport and earned a bachelor's degree in Kinesiology. She founded Karie Horton School of Dance in Lindale, Texas in the fall of 2011, which later became Studio 16 Dance Center in 2020.  Karie has also served as a teacher at Lindale ISD for the past 15 years and was named the Lindale Area Chamber of Commerce Teacher of the Year in 2018.  She is also a 2nd grade teacher at Velma Penny Elementary. Karie has been married to her husband, Robert, for 25 years, and they have two children, Haylie and Blake.
